Polish Catholic Cemetery in Strzyżowice

Strzyżowice
About Polish Catholic Cemetery in Strzyżowice

A denominational cemetery of the Polish Catholic Church in Strzyżowice, founded by the parish in 1962.

The Polish Catholic cemetery in Strzyżowice is a denominational necropolis intended for members of the Polish Catholic Church. It was founded in 1962 by the parish, which had been active here since the year before.

Origin of the cemetery

The parish in Strzyżowice was formed in 1961 after the missionary activity of the Polish Catholic Church in Silesia, and its first administrator was Father Władysław Rybiński. A year later the parishioners set up their own necropolis. It is looked after by the pro-cathedral parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

The cemetery is one of the Polish Catholic cemeteries in the country, alongside necropolises in Warsaw, Wałbrzych and Grudziądz. It is still in use today.

Next to the pro-cathedral

The cemetery is in the same village as the Pro-cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Strzyżowice. For those interested in the history of the Polish Catholic Church in Silesia, it is worth combining both places in one visit.

Practical information

  • Address: ul. Szosowa, Strzyżowice.
  • The cemetery is active, so the rules of conduct appropriate to a burial ground apply.
  • Check the rules of entry and opening hours with the parish before a visit.
