Modernist department store from 1927-1930, designed by Justus Fiegler.
The Ikar Department Store at Zwycięstwa 23 in Gliwice is a modernist commercial building erected in 1927-1930 to a design by Justus Fiegler. It is entered in the heritage register.
For its first three years the building belonged to the American Woolworth corporation, then to the German trading company DeFaKa (Deutsches Familien-Kaufhaus). After 1945 it was taken over by the Centrum Department Stores. The building represents modernism in the form of a classic interwar department store.
