1 Maja 27, Panoszów
About Manor House, 1 Maja 27 in Panoszów

A masonry manor house from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries in the municipality of Ciasna, a former landed estate, today closed to visitors.

The manor house in Panoszów stands on 1 Maja Street in a village in the municipality of Ciasna, in Lubliniec County. It is entered in the heritage register, but remains privately owned and is not open to visitors. It is a good stop for someone following the trail of the surrounding residences who wants to see a former landed estate from the outside.

From an 18th-century manor house to the present building

The first manor house, with a manor and park complex, dates from around 1752, and the founder was Georg Henric von Rouzitz de Helm. The present building was probably erected around 1806, when the residence was rebuilt or reconstructed by Wilhelm Georg Gottlieb von Koscielski-Ponosch. In the following decades the estate changed owners: in 1894 it was acquired by Hugo von Radolin, and in 1917-1930 it belonged to a company. In 1937 it is listed as the property of Hermann Reemtsma. The company to which the estate belonged in those years was based in Patoka, where the palace in Patoka stands today.

What the building looks like

It is a brick house on a basement, covered with a mansard roof with dormers and clad in tiles. The front facade is accented by a two-storey central projecting bay with an entrance preceded by a wooden porch, and on the garden side there is also a projecting bay. Behind the building the former manor park has survived. The heritage register dates the building to the early 20th century, while historical descriptions also give the early 19th century, which corresponds to successive rebuildings.

After 1945

After the war the estate passed to the State Treasury and a state farm operated here. The interiors were rebuilt in 1986, and a general renovation was carried out in 1991-1992. Today the building stands abandoned and is secured against entry by outsiders.
