A Neoclassical manor house of the Taszycki family from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries in Rudniki, today a ruin with a columned portico.
The manor house in Rudniki is a Neoclassical building from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, today in a state of ruin. It lies in the Włodowice municipality, in Zawiercie County, on Pomowska Street, and belongs to the municipality. It was entered in the heritage register in 1995 and again in 2024.
The estate belonged to the Taszycki family of the Strzemię coat of arms, and the manor was known as “Wysoka Pilecka”, linked with Gabriel Taszycki, a major general of the landed gentry and chamberlain of King Stanisław August Poniatowski. In 1817 his son Michał Taszycki founded an elementary school at the manor house and provided its teacher with a permanent salary, firewood and a morgen of land for a garden. The school operated until 1940, and its building has not survived. Later the estate had successive owners, and after the Second World War the manor housed a State Machine Centre.
The manor house is of masonry and single-storey, with a four-column portico with a triangular tympanum at the front. The later two-storey additions are topped by a cornice with an arcature. Around the building, remnants of the former manor garden survive.
