A historic wooden church from 1611 in Boronów, built on a Greek cross plan, with 15 processional banners and a 17th-century cemetery gate.
The wooden church in Boronów stands on Wolności Street and is entered in the heritage register. It was built in 1611, funded by Andrzej Dzierżanowski, and today belongs to the parish of Our Lady Queen of the Holy Rosary in the Woźniki deanery.
The body of the church is oriented and laid out on the plan of a Greek cross. On the west stands a 20-metre bell tower. The first bell, from 1638, was donated by the founder's son, Aleksander Ernest, and the second, smaller one was hung in 1824. Originally the patron of the church was St Andrew. The church is one of the sites of the Wooden Architecture Trail in the Lubliniec land.
The high altar from the early 17th century has two storeys: on the lower hangs a painting of Our Lady of the Rosary, on the upper a smaller painting of St Andrew, and at the sides stand sculptures of Saints Adalbert and Stanislaus. In the side naves there are four altars: of St Anne, of the Immaculate Conception from 1659, of the Four Johns, and of St Nicholas from 1751. In the main nave hang 15 processional banners from the mid-18th century, formerly carried in the processions of the Rosary Confraternity. A crucifix is linked with the chapel of St Anne, about which a local legend circulates: Christ was said to keep his eyes half-closed, to close them only on the day of the end of the world.
On the gallery hang an organ from 1853 and the coat of arms of the Hohenlohe-Ingelfingen family, who were owners of Boronów in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The stained glass from 1890 in the eastern part depicts St Andrew and St Hedwig of Silesia.
The church is surrounded by a cemetery with a wooden fence and a gate from the 17th century. The oldest surviving grave dates from 1855. If you combine your visit with the surroundings, the Rajchowa Góra nature reserve is close, and in Koszęcin there are the palace in Koszęcin and the Church of the Holy Trinity.
