Neo-Gothic church in Lipnik from 1880-1885, built after the fire of an older church, with a Gothic sculpture of the Madonna from the 14th century.
The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary stands in Lipnik, a district of Bielsko-Biała, on ul. księdza Stanisława Brzóski. It is a Neo-Gothic parish church from 1880-1885 that replaced an older brick church from the 13th century. That church burned down in 1879. The building is entered in the heritage register.
After the fire of 1879 the church was rebuilt in the Neo-Gothic style in 1880-1885. The brick church was consecrated on 8 September 1885. The previous, brick church dated from the 13th century.
From the old church a Gothic sculpture of the Virgin and Child from the 14th century has survived. A figure of the Risen Christ from the 16th century is now in the diocesan museum. The church also has a font and a pulpit with rich decoration, made by the artist Chodziński during the rebuilding.
In 1948-1957 the painter Adam Bunsch designed and made the stained-glass windows and the polychromy in the porch, as well as a replica of the painting of Our Lady of Częstochowa.
