Wooden parish church from 1949-1950 in Soblówka, on the Wooden Architecture Route, with yellow window frames.
The Church of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Soblówka is a wooden parish church in a Beskid village, erected in 1949-1950 as a chapel. It is on the Wooden Architecture Route of the Silesian Voivodeship, and a free-standing bell tower stands beside it.
Before the chapel was built, Soblówka belonged to the parish in Ujsoły, where the Church of St Joseph in Ujsoły stands. The chapel was designed by the then parish priest, Father Józef Półka. A building committee was formed in 1948, and the work of the carpenters Józef Salachna and Wincenty Paździorko began in 1949. The chapel was consecrated on 8 November 1952, and it has been a parish church since 1990.
The church has a rectangular plan and a log construction, the tower is of post construction, and the chancel is closed with a polygonal end. The roof has two ridges and is covered with sheet metal, the walls are clad with shingles, and some beams, brackets and window frames are painted a bright yellow. The interior is modest and modern: the chancel is clad with light panelling, and in the nave the log beams can be seen.
Soblówka lies at the foot of Hala Rycerzowa, and nearby also stands the PTTK Shepherd's Hut on Rycerzowa.
