A Neo-Renaissance parish church in Przełajka, consecrated in 1951.
The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a Neo-Renaissance parish church in the Przełajka district of Siemianowice, built after the Second World War.
The church came about on the initiative of Father Wilhelm Kopiec, who organised the blessing of the foundation stone and the laying of the foundations. Work began in 1948 and progressed quickly: on 2 September 1951 the building was ready and on that day it was blessed by Bishop Herbert Bednorz. The consecration was carried out in 1961 by Bishop Juliusz Bieniek.
The designer was Jan Kapołka, who used a design by the prisoner of war Jan Parsiegel of Wrocław. A chapel adjoins the church on the east side. The interior was designed by Eugeniusz Samek, and the stained-glass windows in the baptistery chapel were made by Wiktor Ostrzołek; there are also stained-glass windows in the chancel and on either side of the main entrance. Most of the furnishings and liturgical vestments were brought from the Odrowąż chapel in Chorzów, where they had been until 1939.
The church is entered in the municipal register of historic monuments.
Close by is Grabek Park, and in the centre of Siemianowice the city park.
