A parish church in Czuchów, a district of Czerwionka-Leszczyny, built in 1926 on a cross plan.

The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary stands in Czuchów, a district of Czerwionka-Leszczyny, and belongs to the Dębieńsko deanery of the Archdiocese of Katowice. It was built in 1926 and consecrated on 21 May 1933.

The building

The church was built on a cross plan as a single-nave church, with a transept and chancel. The concrete vaults were designed by the Berlin master mason Carl Rabitz and are suspended from the roof truss structure. Above the main entrance stands a double brick tower on a square plan, and the roof is covered with ceramic tiles on a timber truss. Only the part under the chancel has cellars.

Practical information

  • The church is a working parish church; service times are given by the parish.
  • About 1 km further on, in Czerwionka-Leszczyny itself, stands the Evangelical Augsburg church.
