A museum in the villa of a former mayor with exhibitions on the history of Mikołów and Silesian tradition
The Museum in Mikołów, formerly the Municipal Museum Facility, is a municipal institution presenting the history of the town and the life of its inhabitants. It has operated since 2006, and in 2022 it was transformed into the Museum in Mikołów (in organisation).
Its seat is a villa at ulica Konstytucji 3 Maja 18, formerly belonging to the town's mayor Jan Koj. The exhibitions show objects connected with the history of Mikołów, including furniture and everyday items.
The museum's website speaks of a history of the town that combines Silesian tradition with the present day. Besides permanent and temporary exhibitions there are lectures, workshops and educational events, including projects on the history of the women of Mikołów and on the Silesian dialect.
It is about 5 km to Starganiec and less than 6 km to the Energy Museum in Łaziska Górne.
