About Palace in Draliny

Neoclassical palace from 1898 in Draliny with a park and a granary, converted after the war for social and farming purposes.

The palace in Draliny, a village in Lubliniec County, is a neoclassical building from the late 19th century, part of a former palace complex. The complex also includes a small park and a granary.

History of the manor

The first manor buildings stood in Draliny as early as 1747, but no trace of them survives. The present palace was probably built in 1898. After the Second World War it housed a social welfare centre, and later the storerooms of the municipal cooperative and of a state farm (PGR). In the 1950s and 1960s agricultural courses were held here. Since the late 1980s the building has been privately owned.

What it looks like

It is a two-storey, plastered brick building on a plan close to a square, with a tall hipped roof decorated with dormers. The entrance is in a semicircular projection with a terrace, and at the back there are two-storey loggias topped with a triangular pediment. A thorough rebuilding in the second half of the 20th century stripped the palace of many of its original stylistic features. In the area you can visit the Paleontological Museum in Lisowice, less than 1.5 km away.
