A palace from 1795-1800 in Kłobuck-Zagórze, built for the Prussian minister Christian von Haugwitz, in a park entered in the heritage register.
Kłobuck Palace stands in the Stare Zagórze district, at Zamkowa 8. It was built in 1795-1800 for the Prussian minister Christian von Haugwitz. The building is of brick, has one storey and is entered in the heritage register together with the park surrounding it.
The palace was the seat of the owners of the Zagórze estate until the early 20th century. After Haugwitz the estate belonged, among others, to Benedykt Lemański and Guido Henckel von Donnersmarck. At the end of the 19th century the building was thoroughly rebuilt. The palace represents the Neo-Gothic style.
After the First World War the property passed into the ownership of the State Treasury. In the interwar period it housed a Forestry School, and in 1952-1972 the seat of the Presidium of the County National Council. Later the palace housed a clothing factory, the “Elegancja” Fashion House. In 2004 a general renovation began, and it was planned to create a conference centre in the palace.
The palace is surrounded by a park of 4.3 ha, also covered by the heritage register entry. In the portal’s list it appears as the palace complex in Kłobuck.
