Neo-Baroque guest palace of the Schön family from 1900 in Sosnowiec's Środula district, listed in the heritage register.
Wilhelm Schön's Palace on ulica Chemiczna in Sosnowiec-Środula is one of the two palaces of the Schön palace complex, alongside Ernst Schön's Palace. It was built in 1900 to a design by Józef Pomian-Pomianowski, mainly as a guest palace, and entered in the heritage register.
The Neo-Baroque building has a broken roof that catches the eye. On the garden side, on the west façade, there is a porch with a roof supported on two Ionic columns, while the main entrance, with a projecting vestibule, leads in from the east. In 2010 a large fire broke out in the palace, destroying among other things the roof; a new roof was completed in 2012.
The palace stands in the Schön Park, in the same complex as the neighbouring palace, which houses the Museum in Sosnowiec. The building is not a museum, so before a visit check whether it can be viewed up close.
