A Neo-Gothic chapel from 1898 in a parish cemetery, with plaques to distinguished people of Chorzów.
The brick chapel in the Neo-Gothic style stands in Chorzów's largest cemetery, by Drzymały and Cmentarna streets. It was built in 1898 to a design by Ludwig Schneider, and the cemetery was founded in 1889. It belongs to the parish of St Hedwig of Silesia.
Around 1915 its bell was requisitioned for the war effort. During the Second World War the chapel served as a mortuary, and later it was also sometimes a concert hall. On its outer walls are plaques commemorating the sculptor Rainhold Tomasz Domin, the activist and educator Petronela Golaszowa and the national activist Wojciech Samarzewski. The interior is decorated with ceiling paintings from the end of the 19th century, uncovered during renovation. The building was entered in the heritage register in 2009.
Nearby are the Teatr Rozrywki and the Prezydent shaft.
