Roman Catholic parish church in Brynów built in 1993-2001 to a design by Andrzej Gałkowski, with a rotunda, a bell tower and an amphitheatre.
The Church of Mary Mother of the Church, Immaculate Dawn of Freedom is a modern church in Katowice's Brynów, part of the parish of St Michael the Archangel. Construction lasted from 1993, and the church was consecrated on 25 September 2001 by Archbishop Damian Zimoń.
The design was made by Andrzej Gałkowski. The new complex was built gradually, starting with the rotunda with the Chapel of Christ the Servant, the bell tower and the amphitheatre, and the foundations of the church itself were laid in 1996. In 1997 the Centre of the Crusade of Human Liberation, a pilgrimage office and a post office were also blessed. The church is built of brick.
In the altar of the Chapel of Christ the Servant lie the relics of the martyrs Apollinaris, Florentinus and Peter. The chapel is decorated with mosaics by a Slovenian artist, and the painted decoration in the church was made by a married couple of painters.
Before 1981 the lands of Brynów belonged to the parish of Saints Peter and Paul, and the new parish was established on 21 February 1981. Nearby lies Tadeusz Kościuszko Park in Katowice, about a kilometre from the church.
