Parish church in Moszczenica, part of Jastrzębie-Zdrój, begun in 1939 and consecrated in 1950.
The Church of Our Lady of the Rosary stands in Moszczenica, a village council area of Jastrzębie-Zdrój. It is the church of the parish of Our Lady of the Rosary in Moszczenica Śląska, in the Jastrzębie-Zdrój deanery of the Archdiocese of Katowice.
The design was prepared by the architects H. Szołdra and K. Kluza. In June 1939 work began on the foundations, but the outbreak of war and the occupation of Moszczenica halted it. After interventions by the parish priest and the dean of Wodzisław, the county office in Rybnik agreed to let work continue, but only the walls of the tower and side walls were raised, to a height of four metres. The occupation authorities then stopped the construction, requisitioned the materials and used them to build houses in Jastrzębie-Zdrój.
Construction resumed in 1947 through the efforts of the parish priest, Fr Maksymilian Kowalczyk. After three years of work the church was consecrated on 8 October 1950 by Bishop Stanisław Adamski, the Ordinary of Katowice. The dedication to Our Lady of the Rosary was chosen because Pope Pius XII had proclaimed 1950, the year the construction was completed, a Marian Year. The church is on the municipal heritage register of Jastrzębie-Zdrój.
