A Mariavite church from 1910 in Sosnowiec's Pogoń district, entered in the municipal register of historic monuments.
The Church of Our Lady of the Rosary in Sosnowiec is a parish church of the Old Catholic Mariavite Church, belonging to the Silesia-Łódź diocese. It stands in the Pogoń district and is entered in the municipal register of historic monuments of Sosnowiec.
The Mariavites wanted to build a large church on Żytnia street in Sosnowiec, but this did not happen, and the design from 1908 was realised as the Church of St Barbara. A more modest chapel was built in 1909 in Wygwizdów, then also known as Osada Pruska or Nowa Pogoń. It was consecrated in 1910. Soon afterwards it was vandalised by the Roman Catholic community.
A visit can be combined with a tour to the town centre, for example the Museum in Sosnowiec, less than a kilometre away.
