An Evangelical Augsburg church from 1916 by the cemetery on the border of Wieszczęta and Kowale, rebuilt after being blown up in 1945.
The Church of Reconciliation in Wieszczęta is an Evangelical Augsburg church belonging to the parish in Wieszczęta-Kowale. It began as a cemetery chapel, completed in 1916.
In 1912 the school and cemetery commune of Kowale-Bielowicko decided to build a chapel by the cemetery. Because the cemetery in Bielowicko had an unfavourable location, a plot on the border of Wieszczęta and Kowale was bought in 1913. The work was completed after three years, and the necropolis and chapel were consecrated on 22 June 1916.
At first a bell borrowed from Jaworze was hung in the tower, in 1932 two new ones, and in 1938 the largest, weighing 400 kg. All were confiscated for war purposes on 20 April 1942. In the night of 28 to 29 March 1945 retreating German troops blew up the church. It was rebuilt in 1949 and consecrated again on 11 September that year.
In 1983 an organ was moved here from the Church of the Resurrection of the Lord in Jasienica, and after renovation it was consecrated on 11 September 1988. The parish was formed on 1 July 1992 from parts of the parishes in Skoczów and Jaworze, and on 9 May 1994 the chapel was raised to the rank of church.
Closest is the Evangelical church in Pierściec, and not far away the castle in Grodziec.
