A parish church in Jaworzno-Pieczyska, set up in a villa from 1909 in the Swiss style.
The Church of St Brother Albert Chmielowski in Pieczyska, a part of Jaworzno, is housed in the former villa of the director of a cement works. The building from 1909 was adapted as a chapel, and today it is the seat of a parish with the same dedication.
The house was built in 1909 in the Swiss style, as the villa of the engineer Zdzisław Krudzielski, director of the “Jaworzno” cement works. The facade details were made of wood and stone. The villa was imposing enough that a chapel could be set up in it. The building is listed in the municipal register of historic monuments of Jaworzno.
The parish was established on 1 October 1990 by Adam Śmigielski, bishop of the Diocese of Sosnowiec. The first Mass in the new chapel was celebrated on 14 October 1990. The parish belongs to the deanery of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Jaworzno.
Pieczyska lies near the Gródek Park Arboretum, and those interested in nature will also reach the Dolina Żabnika nature reserve.
