A Late Neoclassical brick church from 1808-1811 with a painting of the patron saint from 1806 and frescoes on the flat ceiling.
St Catherine's Church in Pawonków is a single-nave, brick Late Neoclassical church from the early 19th century. It stands on Zawadzkiego Street and is a parish church in Lubliniec County.
An earlier timber-and-brick church is mentioned in sources as early as 1305. The present building was begun in 1808, consecrated for use in 1811, and formally consecrated in 1816. The tower was added later. The last renovation, during which frescoes were made on the flat ceiling, was carried out in 1956.
In the main altar hangs a painting of the patron saint, painted in 1806 by Karl Friedrich Held of a German family of painters and architects. The church has three altars, a cast-iron pulpit and a richly decorated wooden font from the time of construction. A Baroque chalice from the early 17th century was bought in 1807 from the Jesuits of Nysa.
