A Lutheran church from 1983-1990 in Puńców, with a roof of two offset pyramids.
The Church of St John the Baptist in Puńców is a Lutheran place of worship belonging to the Lutheran (Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession) Parish in Cieszyn, built in 1983-1990 to a design by Edward Kisiel.
It is a two-storey building with a volume of 3,500 m3, of frame-and-wall construction. The plan is square, and the roof is formed by two offset pyramids on a reinforced concrete frame. Upstairs there is a worship hall for 140 people and a gallery with an organ and a choir for 45 people, downstairs catechism rooms and service areas. The consecration of the site took place on 11 September 1983, the foundation stone was laid on 27 May 1984, and the church was consecrated on 20 May 1990.
Earlier in Puńców stood a wooden chapel from before 1869, replaced by a brick one in 1869. It burned down in November 1926 and was rebuilt in 1927; renovation with electrification was carried out in 1955.
