Parish church in Gliwice-Ligota Zabrska, converted in 1925 from a house and farm buildings as a temporary structure.
The Church of St Joseph stands in the Ligota Zabrska district of Gliwice, on ulica św. Józefa. From the start it was meant to be a makeshift building, and to this day it serves as a parish church.
In 1924 the parish bought a house, farm buildings and a slaughterhouse, which were converted into a church. It was completed and consecrated on 11 November 1925. Materials were supplied by the management of the Sośnica mine and by the brickworks in Ligota Zabrska. The church was planned for about 15 years, and the intended permanent building was never started, so the building has no defined style.
It is a single-nave church with three altars. In 1926 a six-stop organ by Gebrüder Rieger of Krnov was installed, with one manual, a pedalboard and pneumatic action. The parish belongs to the Gliwice-Sośnica deanery of the Diocese of Gliwice.
