A single-nave church with a tower from 1951-1959, with a mosaic by Szymon Prandzioch and an organ from 1926.
The Church of St Michael the Archangel in Bytom-Sucha Góra, at ks. Pawła Jaskółki 1, is a single-nave church with a tower, built in 1951-1959 to a design by Jacek Olpiński of Zabrze.
Construction began on 1 August 1951, but on 13 August the authorities halted it. The foundation stone was blessed on 30 September 1951 by Bishop Stanisław Adamski. Work resumed in January 1957, after the political thaw, and the consecration took place on 1 November 1959. A pastoral centre was established on 8 January 1952 and the parish on 20 December 1957; the first parish priest was Father Paweł Jaskółka.
In 2010 Bishop Gerard Kusz blessed a modern altar, a mosaic and an organ. The chancel was designed and the mosaic made by Szymon Prandzioch, assisted by Witold Prandzioch. The organ was built in 1926 by Richard Landau, was moved from one of the churches in Gliwice, and was restored by Henryk Hober.
Nearby lie the recreational valley Sport Dolina Bytom and the Segiet reserve.
