An Evangelical church from 1984, built next to a cemetery belfry from 1908 in Górki Wielkie.
The Church of the Apostle John in Górki Wielkie is an Evangelical Augsburg church belonging to the parish in Brenna-Górki. It stands in the Evangelical cemetery and grew out of a former cemetery chapel.
The Evangelical cemetery in Górki Wielkie, on Kępka Prochaskowa, was founded in 1858, a cross was erected in 1883, and the necropolis was consecrated in 1892. In 1908 a belfry with two bells was built on it, later converted into a chapel. Until 1970 no funeral services were held in it. In the communist period the chapel served as a catechetical point, and from the 1970s services began to be held in it.
In 1984 the chapel was extended into a church to a design by Edward Kisiel. Only the belfry was left of the old structure, to which a new building was added, consecrated on 10 June 1984. Before the Brenna-Górki parish was formed in 1992, Górki Wielkie belonged to the Evangelical parish in Ustroń.
In the area lies the Zofia Kossak-Szatkowska Museum.
