A late Gothic church from 1577 with Baroque furnishings and the Renaissance tomb of the Myszkowski family.
The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Bestwina is a brick, late Gothic church completed in 1577, with a single nave and a tower on the west side. The furnishings are mostly Baroque and Rococo, and a Renaissance tomb of the founders has survived in the chancel.
Construction was completed in 1577. In 1748-1764 the church was rebuilt. The renovation of the façade in 2014 restored the late Gothic windows in the chancel, and at the same time the stone cross in the cemetery, the Rococo high altar and the Renaissance tomb were restored.
The nave has a wooden ceiling, and the church contains three altars. In the chancel is the tomb of Stanisław Myszkowski and his wife Jadwiga née Tęczyńska, from the last quarter of the 16th century. Above the nave ceiling there are traces of paintings imitating beams. The organ has 29 stops and three manuals with a pedalboard.
In Bestwina it is also worth noting the tomb of Stanisław and Jadwiga Myszkowski, which lies about 700 metres from the church.
