The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Biskupice, a district of Zabrze, is a brick church in the Brick Expressionist style, built in 1928-1929. It was blessed on 16 November 1932.
The design was made by Hans von Poellnitz in cooperation with the building office of the Gräflich von Ballestrem'sche Güterdirektion in Gliwice, and the construction was carried out by the firm Baugeschäft Gebr. Stark of Bytom. The church has one nave and one tower. From 1940 it was a curacy, and from 1950 an independent parish. In 1981-1982 the roof was covered with copper sheet instead of tiles and a granite floor was laid. The building is entered in the heritage register.
The organ was built by the firm Carl Berschdorf of Nysa: it has 33 stops on three manuals and a pedalboard, with electro-pneumatic action. In 1934 Peter Lipp cast the bronze Pietà, which stands by the entrance. The bells: four named ones, of St Augustine, St Barbara, Ave Maria and St Joseph. In 2001 the original altar was renovated.
