The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Milówka is a brick parish church from 1834-1839, built in the so-called Vistula style. It belongs to the Milówka deanery of the Diocese of Bielsko-Żywiec.

From wooden to brick

The first, wooden church was endowed in 1628 by Queen Constance, owner of the Żywiec estates. It was built in 1630 and blessed by the Bishop of Kraków, Marcin Szyszkowski. The present building was begun in 1834 and completed in 1839, blessed in 1847 and consecrated on 17 July 1860.

Interior

The walls are decorated with polychrome painting from 1890-1895. The Stations of the Cross were carved in wood in 1904 by the Milówka artist Jan Śleziak, and the stained-glass windows were bought in 1954. The church was renovated for the jubilee of 2000 years of Christianity.
