Church of the Finding of the Holy Cross and St Catherine in Rusinowice

The Church of the Finding of the Holy Cross and St Catherine stands in Rusinowice in Lubliniec County. The need for a church of their own was reported here even before the Second World War, but the plan came to fruition only at the turn of the 1970s and 1980s.

Construction

The building permit was obtained in May 1982, and the land was donated by a parishioner. The design was made by the architect Zygmunt Radziewicz-Winnicki. Work began in June 1983 and was largely carried out by the parishioners themselves. The foundation stone was laid by Bishop Herbert Bednorz on 19 September 1983, and the church was blessed on 28 October 1986. The consecration took place on 28 April 1996.

Furnishings

The cross, paintings and stained glass were made by Stanisław Kluska, and the Stations of the Cross by Tadeusz Ginko. The new furnishing of the chancel and the altar were designed by Piotr Kłosek, and the marble altar, pulpit and font were made by Henryk Grzechac. The organ was built in 2008.
