Baroque church from 1632-1644, founded by Hetman Stanisław Koniecpolski, with a painting by Tommaso Dolabella.
The Church of the Holy Trinity in Koniecpol is a Baroque church of brick walls, founded by the Grand Crown Hetman Stanisław Koniecpolski. It was built in 1632-1644 and consecrated in the founder's presence by Primate Maciej Łubieński.
The design was made by the Italian architect Maciej Trapola. The church was placed in the middle of a rectangular cemetery surrounded by a wall broken by small gates, with an imposing gate on the west and a bell tower and clock tower in the corners at the front. The church faces the town, and its silhouette seen from the Pilica side has hardly changed since the hetman's time.
Inside is a monumental high altar with a large painting of the Adoration of the Holy Trinity, painted by the Italian painter Tommaso Dolabella, as well as several altars and paintings, including a valuable Crucifixion from the early 17th century. Reminders of the founder are his symbolic tomb in the form of a reclining knight and a large equestrian portrait. Not far away stands the palace in Koniecpol.
