A modern church on the Mydlice estate in Dąbrowa Górnicza, designed by the architect of the whole estate and consecrated in 2005.
The Church of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ is a modern church on the Mydlice estate in Dąbrowa Górnicza, on Żeromskiego Street. It was built after 1991 and consecrated in 2005.
The present site was chosen in 1991. The plot granted by the authorities was fenced off and the first excavations were made. At that time the priests lived in blocks of flats, and pastoral work was combined with building work.
The church was designed by the architect Zygmunt Fagas, who designed the whole Mydlice estate. The structural design was prepared by Krystian Blaszczuk, and the high altar by Jan Funek. The consecration on 18 September 2005 was performed by Bishop Adam Śmigielski.
A few hundred metres from the church stands the Basin Palace of Culture, and the Sztygarka Municipal Museum is in the same part of the city.
