About Collection of Intuitive Art “Barwy Śląska”

A gallery of intuitive painting from the collection of Stanisław Gerard Trefon, in Ruda Śląska since 2010.

The “Barwy Śląska” (Colours of Silesia) gallery presents intuitive painting, that is, the work of self-taught artists. The collections come from the collection of Stanisław Gerard Trefon and are cared for by the Barwy Śląska Association.

Where the gallery came from

The gallery was opened on 4 December 2006. Until 2010 it was housed in the former palace of the Henckel von Donnersmarck counts in Nakło Śląskie, and was later moved to Ruda Śląska. According to the available descriptions it operates at ul. Młyńska 16.

What works can be seen

Among the artists presented are named Erwin Sówka, Paweł and Leopold Wróbel, Władysław Luciński, Teofil Ociepka, Nikifor Krynicki, Helmut Matura, Krzysztof Webs, Rudolf and Dieter Nowak and Ewald Gawlik. It is therefore a survey of naive and intuitive painting connected with Silesia.
