A drinking-water reservoir on the Soła in Porąbka, 45 ha in area, with a ban on water sports and fishing.
Czaniec Lake, also called the Czaniec Reservoir, is a drinking-water storage reservoir on the Soła in Bielsko County. It was created after the dam in Porąbka was built.
The reservoir covers 45 hectares, has a total capacity of 1.3 million m³ and a maximum depth of 6.5 m. It is a reserve of drinking water for, among others, Katowice, Tychy and Bielsko-Biała, and the water is treated on site.
All water sports and fishery management are prohibited on the reservoir. It is a body of water to be looked at from the shore, not for swimming or sailing. Those who want a more active holiday on the water should plan it at the neighbouring Międzybrodzie Lake, about 4 km from here.
