A chapel of the Evangelical parish in a former school from 1863, converted into a chapel in 1980-1981.
The Evangelical chapel in Gumna belongs to the Evangelical-Augsburg parish in Cieszyn. It was created in the building of a former Evangelical school and still serves the faithful as a place of worship.
In 1863 an Evangelical school was opened in Gumna for the local Lutherans. In 1956 the school was moved and the building returned to the parish. In 1980-1981 the classroom was converted into a chapel, with new installations and floor, an altar and a pulpit. A further renovation in 1996 covered the second part of the building. The chapel was solemnly consecrated on 27 September 1998 during a harvest thanksgiving service, and in 2001 a sound system and a board for hymn numbers were installed.
Services are held every Sunday and on feast days. Bible groups, a Sunday school and young people also meet in the chapel. Not far away, in Zamarski, stands the Church of St Roch, and it is about 5 km from here to Cieszyn.
