An Evangelical church from 1927-1930 designed by Tadeusz Michejda, consecrated by Bishop Bursche.
The Evangelical church in Istebna is a church built in 1927-1930 to a design by Tadeusz Michejda. It belongs to the Evangelical-Augsburg Parish in Istebna, which has been independent since 1967.
The foundation stone was blessed on 7 August 1927 by Bishop Juliusz Bursche in the presence of 18 clergy and about 6,000 worshippers. The consecration took place on 3 August 1930, also with the participation of Bishop Bursche. The land for the church was donated by Jakub Śliwka of Istebna.
During the Second World War a shell struck the church tower. After the war the tower was rebuilt in 1945, a year later electricity was installed, and in 1949 a new altar was ordered from Czesław Kuryatta, along with a new organ. The parish house was built in 1984.
Only 300 metres from the church stands Kawulok's Smoke Cottage, and about 3.6 kilometres further the Church of Our Lady of Fátima.
