About Evangelical Church in Wisła Czarne

A post-war Evangelical church that began as a catechetical house in 1972 and has been the seat of an independent parish since 1994.

The Evangelical church in Wisła Czarne is a church of the Evangelical-Augsburg parish that began as a catechetical house with a worship hall. Today it is the seat of an independent parish, and services are held there on Sundays and feast days.

From catechetical house to church

In 1968 the council of the Evangelical parish in Wisła decided to build a catechetical house. The building with a worship hall was consecrated on 10 July 1972. It was designed by Karol Kozieł.

In the 1990s the building was extended, and the new part was consecrated on 12 July 1997. A bell tower was added and blessed in 2000, and in 2010 a renovation of the interior changed the look of the chancel.

The parish

Since 1 December 1994 the church has been the seat of an independent Evangelical-Augsburg parish in Wisła Czarne. It is an example of modern Lutheran architecture in the Beskids, not a historic monument from earlier centuries.
