A Neo-Gothic building in the form of a small castle with a round tower, designed in 1906 for the Hohenlohe Works as a forester's and gardener's house.
The Forester's and Gardener's House in Michałkowice, a district of Siemianowice Śląskie, is a brick Neo-Gothic building resembling a small castle with a round tower. It stands at ul. Oświęcimska 7, in Górnik Park, and is entered in the heritage register.
The building was designed in 1906 by Louis Dame for the joint-stock company Hohenlohe Works. It was to serve as a residence for the forester and gardener of the grounds belonging to the enterprise, whose land lay in Michałkowice and Bytków, and whose extensive forests were in Brynów. Inside, two flats were arranged and the tower housed the staircase. After the Second World War the interiors were rebuilt and there were six flats.
Nearby, greenhouses were built with references to Middle Eastern architecture, which no longer exist. Farm buildings were erected by the house: a barn, a stable, a boiler house and pigsties. A few dozen metres to the south ran a narrow-gauge railway track leading to the sidings of the “Michał” mine and the processing plant, now demolished.
