The gwarek (miner) sculpture in Pniowiec is the eleventh figure of the Tarnowskie Góry cycle of open-air sculptures showing gwarki, that is, former miners. It stands in Pniowiec, a forest district of Tarnowskie Góry, at the junction of Jagodowa and Okrężna streets, and it was unveiled on 2 December 2023.

The gwarek cycle

Gwarek figures have been unveiled in Tarnowskie Góry every year since 2013, most often around Barbórka (St Barbara's Day, miners' holiday), on 4 December. They are placed in the centre and in the districts, among them Stare Tarnowice, Repty Śląskie, Opatowice, Lasowice and Sowice. Pniowiec is one of those districts.
