A private museum in a Tychy tower block, with an area of about 21.9 m², with miniatures, sculpture, edged weapons and phaleristics.
The Museum of Professional Miniature Art in Tychy (Muzeum Miniaturowej Sztuki Profesjonalnej) is located on the ground floor of a residential tower block at Żwakowska 8 and occupies two small rooms with a total area of about 21.9 m². It was founded in 2013 and regional publications call it one of the smallest museums in the world.
The collection is divided into four sections: painting, drawing and graphic art; sculpture and ceramics; phaleristics, heraldry, symbolism and emblematics; and edged weapons. The museum has gathered more than a thousand exhibits, including works of art and cultural artefacts, mostly from donations. Frameless mirrors visually enlarge the interior. By the entrance stands the Ruby Sundial in a small garden called Paradise Park.
In 2016 the town lent the museum a plot on Żwakowska Street for greenery and cultural meetings, named the Green Tychy Culture zone. A model of the town was built there, which you can walk around along main streets marked out in granite setts. There is also a memorial stone commemorating the victims of the air crash near Smolensk.
