A brick Lutheran church from 1988-1994, postmodernist, with 780 seats.
The Jesus Church (Kościół Jezusowy) at Cieszyńska 23 is the church of the Lutheran parish in Jastrzębie-Zdrój. It was built in 1988-1994 because the previous church in nearby Ruptawa was too small for the growing town, whose population rose in the 1960s with the development of mining and new housing estates.
The design is by the engineer Edward Kisiel, and the interior was designed by the Cieszyn visual artist Jan Herma. The building is of brick and in a postmodernist style, which sets it apart among the traditional churches of the region. The lower floor holds two catechism rooms, a congregation hall, a guest room and kitchen facilities, and the upper floor the main nave with 780 seats. It was consecrated by Bishop Jan Szarek on 26 June 1994.
The town itself has other churches too, for example the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, and for greenery head for the Spa Park.
