Church of Our Lady of the Rosary in Ostre

The Church of Our Lady of the Rosary in Ostre is a masonry church from the end of the 1980s, with a single nave and a single tower. The village lies in Lipowa municipality in Żywiec County.

Construction and parish status

The idea of building a church arose among residents in 1984. Construction began in May 1988, and on 9 October of that year Bishop Kazimierz Nycz blessed the foundation stone. Work was completed in 1989. Until 10 October 2010 the building was a chapel in the Radziechowy parish; from that day it has been a parish church. The parish belongs to the Diocese of Bielsko-Żywiec, and the liturgical memorial of its dedication falls on 7 October.
