A wooden branch church in Gołkowice from 1878, on the Wooden Architecture Route, with a sculpture of the Madonna from the early 16th century.
St Anne's Church in Gołkowice is a wooden branch church of the parish of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross and St Anne, located in the Godów municipality. It belongs to the Wooden Architecture Route of the Silesian Voivodeship.
The present church was built on the site of an earlier church, pulled down because of its poor technical condition. In 1873 a tower was acquired from the Gothic church in Pruchna, which was being demolished at the time and was also dedicated to St Anne. In 1877 concrete foundations were laid and the walls began to be raised, and in 1878 the church was ready. It was renovated in 1953, 2006 and 2010.
The church is oriented and has a post construction on concrete foundations. The tower is square, with sloping walls and 18 m high, with a belfry stage in the upper part and an eight-sided pyramidal helmet. The chancel is slightly lower than the nave, and on the ridge stands an octagonal ridge turret with an open lantern. Along the south wall of the nave run the so-called soboty (a wooden gallery around the walls).
In the high altar St Anne teaches Mary, watched by St Joachim; at the sides stand figures of St Peter and St Paul. The side altars are dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The most valuable item is the sculpture of the Virgin and Child from the early 16th century. On the pulpit basket are bas-reliefs of the four Fathers of the Church, St Ambrose, St Augustine, St Jerome and St Gregory, from the 18th century, probably from the former pulpit of 1711.
Nearby stand, among others, the Church of St Joseph the Worker in Godów and the church in Skrbeńsko.
