From chapel to church

In 1895-1896 a chapel was built here with a neo-Gothic altar bearing a painting of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and figures of St Joseph and St Anne, as well as a sculpture of St John of Nepomuk. Construction of the present church began in 1937 and was completed in 1943, and it was consecrated in 1944. The first Mass was celebrated here on 9 May 1975, and the parish was established on 5 July 1981. The church has a single nave with a transept and three altars. In 2021 a major renovation was completed: the roof, the interior, the paving and the lighting around the church were renewed.
