St Urban's Church in Wędzina

St Urban's Church in Wędzina, in Lubliniec County, is a modern church built in 1996-2002. It was consecrated on 15 September 2002 by Jan Kopiec, then auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Opole.

The previous church

The present church is new. On the site where the earlier building, now gone, once stood, a small chapel with a cross in its central part has been set up. For a visitor it is the most interesting trace of the earlier history of the place.

The nearest neighbouring place is Sieraków Śląski with the Church of Saints Peter and Paul, about 4 km from Wędzina.
