A parish church from 1934 in the Popielów district of Rybnik, with two 15th-century bells from the old wooden church.
The Church of the Holy Trinity stands in Popielów, a district of Rybnik on the southern edge of the town. It is a parish church from the 1930s, belonging to the Niedobczyce deanery of the Archdiocese of Katowice.
Construction began in 1933 thanks to the efforts of the residents of Popielów. The plans were drawn up by the architect Rafał Szymura of Knurów. The church was consecrated by Bishop Teofil Bromboszcz as early as 1 July 1934, so the work went quickly, and the faithful funded it with their own donations.
The church has kept two historic bells from the old wooden church: the smaller one dates from 1486, the larger from 1496. All the sculptures except the altar of St Barbara were made by the local sculptor Franciszek Janoszka. In 1976 the interior was redecorated to a design by Edmund Czarnecki and Karol Gierlotka of Katowice.
