A former Lutheran chapel from 1870 in the Borsigwerk workers' colony, now owned by the city.
The Lutheran chapel in Zabrze-Biskupice stands in the former Borsigwerk workers' colony, today the Borsig estate. It was built in 1869-1870 as part of a school building and was consecrated on 23 October 1870. Today it belongs to the city and no longer serves as a parish chapel.
The building was erected for the Lutheran community of the Borsigwerk estate, and the Borsig family, the owners of the works, took part in its construction in part. In 1886 the chapel became an independent parish chapel. A renovation was carried out in 1896. The description of the building indicates that it had stained-glass windows, and its silhouette was distinguished by Neo-Gothic windows.
In September 1945 the chapel lost its parish status and became a branch chapel. The last service was held on 26 September 2004, and around 2006 the building was taken over by the city of Zabrze.
