Lutheran House of Prayer in Bąków

The Lutheran House of Prayer in Bąków, in Cieszyn County, is a small Lutheran place of worship belonging to the Lutheran (Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession) Parish in Drogomyśl. It is a new building, put up at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries by the local community.

How it came about

The Lutheran community in Bąków first gathered in private homes, where religious instruction was given from 1954. In 1960-1976 meetings were held in the old manor house, and from 1994 in one of the houses. The land for building was bought in January 1998. Work began on 25 March 2000, and the foundation stone was blessed on 3 June 2000 by Bishop Paweł Anweiler. The finished house of prayer was consecrated on 13 June 2004.
