A railway museum in the Stradom station building, with lamps, uniforms, documents and two steam locomotives.
The Railway History Museum in Częstochowa is housed in the building of the Częstochowa Stradom station. It is run by the Society of Friends of the Warsaw-Vienna Railway, and since 2006 it has been on the Silesian Voivodeship Industrial Monuments Route.
The museum was founded on 23 March 2001. Its collections are souvenirs, equipment and fittings connected with rail transport: lamps, rails, uniforms, documents, maps and photographs. The exhibition occupies the ground floor and the first floor of the station.
The society looks after two historic steam locomotives: TKt48-151, which stands at Częstochowa station, and Ol49-20 near the locomotive depot.
Since 19 October 2006 the museum has belonged to the Industrial Monuments Route. If you are interested in technology, in the town you will also find the Match Production Museum and the Iron Ore Mining Museum, and on the other side of the town is Jasna Góra.
