A museum of the history of Tychy in the Old Town Hall on Plac Wolności, with a branch, the Tychy Sports Gallery.
The Tychy City Museum deals with the history of the town and its residents. Its main seat is the Old Town Hall at plac Wolności 1, and its branch is the Tychy Sports Gallery (Tyska Galeria Sportu) at the City Stadium.
The museum was established in November 2004 and opened to visitors in April 2005, together with its first exhibition, "A Hundred Years in the Life of a Town. Tychy and Its People in the 20th Century". From 2005 to 2012 it was located in the historic building of the former malt drying house on the grounds of the Tyskie Princely Breweries. In 2012 it moved into the building of the former town hall.
The collections are held in four departments: city history, photography, art and ethnology. The museum prepares temporary exhibitions, open-air displays in the city space, and museum lessons, workshops and field games for children and young people. Since 2007 it has organised the Tychy Historical Symposium.
The Tychy Sports Gallery opened on 29 July 2016 with the permanent exhibition "The Sporting Side of the City. History. Events. Champions". Nearby is the Tyskie Browarium.
