A museum in the crypt of a church in Mysłowice-Brzęczkowice, opened in 2004, with collections from Africa, Oceania and South America.
The Cardinal August Hlond Mission Museum operates in Mysłowice-Brzęczkowice at the parish of Our Lady of Sorrows. It collects memorabilia from mission countries: from Africa, Oceania and South America.
The institution was established in 2004 on the initiative of a missionary. It is housed in the Oratory of St Adalbert, in the crypt of the church, that is the Church of Our Lady of Sorrows in Mysłowice.
The exhibits come from three continents. From Africa they are collections from Zaire, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tanzania and Cameroon, from Oceania from Papua New Guinea, and from South America from Peru and Argentina.
The collections include costumes, ornaments, masks, musical instruments and everyday objects. A separate natural history display shows the fauna and flora of Africa, and the whole is complemented by photographs and films.
