A municipal museum in Mysłowice with departments of archaeology, history and ethnography, located next to the Central Firefighting Museum.
The Mysłowice City Museum is a municipal institution established in 2006 by a resolution of the City Council. It is located at ulica Stadionowa 7a, on the site where the Central Firefighting Museum operates.
The permanent exhibitions are divided into three departments: archaeology, history and ethnography. The archaeological department shows objects from excavations carried out in 2001-2002. The history department has photographs of the town from the 20th century and exhibitions on the Silesian Uprisings and the industry of Mysłowice.
The ethnographic part recreates the interiors of an Upper Silesian flat from the first half of the 20th century: a kitchen, a bedroom and a living room. The museum's website also mentions museum lessons, film screenings, a library and a virtual walk around the exhibition.
Next door is the Central Firefighting Museum in Mysłowice, so both museums can be seen in one visit, and not far from here lies Three Emperors' Corner.
